Live Shows at the Golden Horseshoe
Walt's favorite restaurant, the Golden Horseshoe! It's one of Disneyland's most iconic and beloved attractions, located in Frontierland. You're in for a treat with this one!
The Golden Horseshoe is a saloon-style theater and restaurant that has a rich history. It opened its doors on July 13, 1955, just a few weeks after Disneyland itself opened. It was originally designed as a live entertainment venue, and it still hosts shows to this day!
One of the most interesting things about the Golden Horseshoe is that it holds a record in the Guinness World Records as the longest-running live stage show in history! The show, called "Golden Horseshoe Revue," entertained guests for over 39,000 performances from 1955 to 1986 before it was replaced by a new show called “Golden Horseshoe Jamboree.”
Another fun fact is that the famous actress and dancer, Betty Taylor, performed in the "Golden Horseshoe Revue" for over 27 years, becoming a beloved figure in Disneyland. She even has a window on Main Street, U.S.A named after her in honor of her contributions to the park.
Nowadays, the Golden Horseshoe is home to a lively musical-comedy show called "The Laughing Stock Co." It's a hilarious performance featuring a talented troupe of actors who put on a knee-slapping good time with improvised humor and audience participation.
Let's not forget about the delicious food they offer there! The Golden Horseshoe is known for its mouthwatering chicken and waffle sandwiches, savory chili, and of course, their famous ice cream sundaes.
So, make sure to visit the Golden Horseshoe on your next trip to Disneyland. You'll be transported to the Wild West and treated to a mix of history, entertainment, laughter, and scrumptious treats!
